How it works

  1. 1

    Free meet & greet

It's optional, but I always like to meet your dog or cat with you the first time - and there's no commitment to book afterwards.

  2. 2

    Getting the details right

To take good care of your pet, I need to know what they like and don't like, their routine and any specific health needs.

  3. 3

    The walk or visit itself

Care at your pet's pace, with photo or message updates so you know how it's going.

  4. 4

    Handover & debrief

I send you photos and videos of your pet, with a quick debrief of how it went and anything worth knowing for next time.

Someone your dog will be happy to see again

Instead of a kennel, your dog stays at home - with me. I grew up among dogs (my grandfather even bred Bullmastiffs) and I've been dog sitting since starting university.

Frequently asked questions

Does my dog come to your place?

No - I come to yours. Your dog stays at home, with their own bed, garden and routine, and I look after them there.

Will my dog still get a walk during a sitting visit?

Yes - a walk of at least 30 minutes is included in every dog sitting visit, not an extra. Beyond that, it depends on what your dog needs.

How do overnight stays work?

I stay at your home so your dog isn't left alone for the night. Times are agreed around your plans, but I usually arrive around 7pm and leave around 8 or 9am, depending on your dog's needs.

Will my dog be looked after alongside other dogs?

Only if we've agreed on it together. By default, your dog has me all to themselves.

My dog has specific needs or medication - can you handle that?

Yes. Medication, feeding times, habits and quirks are all talked through at the meet & greet, then followed exactly as you'd do them yourself. And if you'd like, I gently reinforce good habits along the way.

What if something happens while I'm away?

I can take your dog to the vet on your behalf if needed, and I'll keep you informed the whole time. The vet's fees are then settled by you, just as if you'd taken your dog yourself.

What if I have more than one pet?

Multi-pet households are always welcome. The exact rate depends on the service and is shown in the pricing section of each page - here, +£3 per additional dog.

Can we book the first walk or visit right after the meet & greet?

Absolutely. If it feels like a good match for you, your pet and me, the first booking can follow straight away - or you can take a bit more time, no pressure either way.

Which areas do you cover?

Canterbury city centre. I get around on foot, so I cover homes within walking distance of the centre. Not sure if you're in? Just send me your area and I'll tell you straight away.

What if you can't make it?

Dates are agreed together around my availability, and once they're set, I'm committed to them. If something unexpected comes up (I'm rarely ill), I'll let you know well in advance so you have time to make other plans - I can point you to another local service if needed, and we'll sort out payment fairly between us.

Do you have any pet-care training?

I don't hold a formal pet-care qualification: my experience comes from a lifetime around animals, from shelter volunteering to horses and years of looking after other people's pets.

How do you treat my home and keys?

Exactly as I would my own - with respect for your space and your habits. Keys are kept safe, and doors, windows and gates are double-checked before I leave.

How far ahead do I need to book, and can I cancel?

Just book at least 24 hours in advance, and if your plans change, let me know at least 24 hours before too. If something comes up at the last minute, just tell me - we'll sort it out between us.

How do I pay?

Simply in cash, in person, when we next see each other. No app, no booking fees and no platform taking a cut - you pay me directly for the time I spend with your pet.

Are you around during university holidays?

Often, yes - fully or partly depending on the period. Let me know your dates as early as you can and we'll work out together what I can cover.
